To be Magnificent
To be wonderful, magnificent and ever-so-awesomely you is a lifestyle key that few of us have chosen to master. To sit still in yourself unbothered by the world is to observe your light within and to feel that tethered connection between you and whatever put us here. Taking care of oneself is a battle all its own and just to be human is work enough most days. Swatting away the obstacles that fly at us daily and truly being able to maintain happiness is a talent that needs more ample acknowledgement. It is to be confessed however, that there are a bunch of us just whistling by. Working at something and yet at nothing. Driving on the road with attention, yet the destination is set to auto pilot and your place of arrival is death.
The motions of the everyday and the routine of 'being normal' is so ridiculously easy that it's difficult, as oxymora as that sounds. To be privileged enough to be born into a world where the water flows as free as purpose, value and opinion is to be given the oppourtunity to live life how you see it fit. By making your own decisions and being given the status of a paying job and roof over your head you have been given a place in this world that affords you happiness. Take that head start and run with it and ensure you stay within those lines on the track.
Your lines, your "track" so to speak, consists of treating yourself well! This is stated repetitively in book after book that I've absorbed over the years: your foundation sets the bar for the rest to flow into place. So before you attempt at skipping to the easy part and just trying to treat yourself great or let yourself fall so far it seems impossible to catch up, treat yourself well everyday and add to your life a foundation that sets the bar for so many other great life qualities.
“It's not the big things that add up in the end; it's the hundreds, thousands, or millions of little things that separate the ordinary from the extraordinary.”
― The Compound Effect: Jumpstart Your Income, Your Life, Your Success
'Well' doesn't mean pushing yourself beyond your human limits of what you can handle ie: high stress, partying, over-working, immobility and artificial happiness. 'Well' means to eat right, exercise, give yourself a lil me time, set goals, work diligently at them, treat others right and enjoy your everyday. It's almost just that simple. To truly bring yourself peace every time you set foot outside your door and getting to make a decision for yourself - this is your freedom, this is your rest easy. By simply being able to enjoy your peace in your everyday creates a gratitude force that goes unmatched in your life. Things become easier and life doesn't seem so hard because you've been graced with noticing all the simple pleasures.
No one is invading your home, stealing your human rights (yet) or accusing you of witchcraft or wizardry. You are just so ever elegantly alive and free, yet didn't someone say one time "with great freedom, comes great responsibility." Wrong, yet so right! That quote is widely portrayed in Hollywood as Spiderman's Uncle Ben who uttered it first. However, if you trace it back to the comics it in fact is spoken by no one and yet output to the world in a more moral way. For "with great power comes great responsibility." Roughly translated that when you (yes only YOU) get the power to help others (as well as yourself) do help! It's like it almost becomes a part of you that this responsibility, this freedom is your own. Your life is too epic to waste it on being a lazy arsed succubus to this world!!
Let treating yourself better become a new reality build without all the bells and whistles. Simple consistent changes over time create radical change. Moving forward from this point on may we all notice what certain behavior's or foods hinder your world so you can make active moves to change them. What brings you down or takes you up in your everyday that you know for certain hinders your life instead of helps it? Could you see yourself without it? Are you capable of shifting into accepting the reality that change is needed in the first place or do you simply have yourself convinced that laziness, gossip, negative media, chronic smoking, drinking, gambling, emotional and physical abuse are all just alright? Because if so, welcome to your version of auto-pilot.
Seeking happiness in things outside of you is no life to live and yet every single one of us is guilty of it. Being empty and uncomfortable with being alone is a disturbing reality. It will always rock your world to keep you busy and distracted and away from yourself, constantly seeking. Life seems difficult to the individual footing all their own bills but if tomorrow their pockets were full and their house was bigger then would their smile come and they incorporate a healthier lifestyle? And to the person out there with all the money and time freedoms, does your heart flutter when you see a sunrise? Are you comfortable when its just you in your own skin, surrounded only by your four walls? Or are you constantly seeking the next outlet because you can't be bothered to feel that void or work on repairing it.
I urge whomever reads this to set goals and when you meet them, exceed them and set more. Reach into the depths of your dreams and decide to shoot for being everything you want to be. Dream to infinity and beyond and never consider any goal too big. We are the magicians casting the spells on our desired realities both consciously and unconsciously, but the key point to note here is even pure magic must be directed. Have purpose and meaning so high that any mediocre place of boredom in life that you find yourself now becomes trivial because you are building at that better dream.
You must determine your get out of bed reason for being, even if for today it is just getting out of bed! I know there are a host of humans out there with insufferable mental illness and pain so hard internally it physically hurts to live. But every single one of us has the capability to change, even when at our rock bottom room of darkness. If this piece has now started to irritate you please know there's something you desire inside you to change. Some piece of you you've considered in your own quiet moments that's surfacing now because I decided to bring the topic of self reflection up again. Self work - and here's the oh-so-obvious newsflash - ACTUALLY TAKES WORK! And you 100% will not succeed ALONE. Seek the resources needed to implement your change, to work at that nagging background You.
New input, thinking, routine or daily deviation from your hum drum current reality is what you need. In my world I turn to knowledge through books, peers/mentors, creative skill building and nature experienced through new travel/places. There is an easy solution to your daily equation and solving your problem is just figuring out the B.E.D.M.A.S of your life. In what sequence or order will you flourish most? Do you see the blurred haze that exists over your life by ignoring yourself? That fog of feeling like you're just getting by and then substituting your shit reality with a 'cold one' to take the edge off. Your current sequence and everything you surround yourself with is what makes you, you. So is it actually making you or constantly working at breaking you?
You can with grave certainty live a very, very long life in your misery. Most often those who are comfortable in it see only their outer reality as the problem and fail to recognize their own negativity. There is a forever kind of focused haze for those so deep in their gossip and so blind to the drama of life that they can't see how their daily routines kill all their focus at ever having a better life. In fact, the cards often turn in favor of these people (further distraction) and they become an attraction to be doted upon, often becoming popular or striking it lucky in fortune or minimal fame. The focus is ever on them, yet not at all and people join in that toxic fun because damn, is it easy!
Tread carefully as you walk forward and mind yourself before you mind others. Wasting your days away complaining without action and entertaining bad habit is futile, but it is sure as shit the easiest way at living - bar none! Just look at the mass amount of chronic problems in our society and the ignorant, stressed out and angry individuals who you've seen surface in your life and in our world. Laziness and the easy way out in life exists everywhere, so please be aware. If you're expecting to turn a new leaf without backing yourself up with the power needed to actually do the work then expect that exactly how you feel now will continue to eat away at you. If you desire to reach magnificent in your lifetime, today is the day to turn that crank. Do one thing different and start there. Reach out into your ordinary and shift something to make it extraordinary. The world is packed with plenty of people but there is ever only going to be one of you. Cease missing out on your extraordinary.
